Why hello and welcome to the OPI Mexico City collection! This collection features twelve new shades all inspired by the bright and festive shades of the city.
For this collection OPI partnered with a native Mexican artist named Sofia Castellanos, who is known for her illustrations and murals. Her artwork is featured on select packaging throughout the campaign.
The formula was good with these. Most of the light shades tended to be three coats for me and the medium and dark shades were just two coats.
Hue is the Artist? is a very pale lavender creme.
Mexico City Move-Mint is a super soft minty/blue creme.
Don’t Tell A Sol is a bright yellow creme.
Coral-ing Your Spirit Animal is a medium coral creme.
Verde Nice to Meet You is a turquoise green creme. This should have been three coats but I used two, which you can tell doesn’t cover that well for me.
Telenova Me About It is a bright pink with shimmer.
My Chihuahua Doesn’t Bite Anymore is a vivid orange creme.
¡Viva OPI! is a vibrant red creme.
Mariachi Makes My Day is a deep purple creme.
Mi Casa Es Blue Casa is a bright *almost* cobalt blue creme.
Suzi’s Slinging Mezcal is a gold metallic with shimmer.
Mural Mural on the Wall is a coral with specks of gold flake glitter. Even though I have not been to Mexico City (only Cozumel) these shades represent what I think of when I think of the city.
After swatching them I can say these are all nice shades but my personal favorites are Mexico City Move-Mint (though it looks more sky blue to me than mint), Coral-ing Your Spirit Animal, Telenova Me About It, My Chihuahua Doesn’t Bite Anymore and Mi Casa Es Blue Casa.
OPI Mexico City comes out in February on their site and in stores and they will retail for $10.50 each.
Which of these do you love?
