Hey there everyone, happy hump day! Today I’ve got the essie game theory collection for your peepers.
The limited edition essie game theory collection is comprised of six new shades all in a matte formula. They call them “velvet effect polish with a soft-matte finish and a low-lit pearl.” They look really nice matte but even better with a shiny top coat, in my opinion!
I am missing one of the six and it’s a bright grape purple called hold ’em tight, which I believe is sold out most places. I swatched all of these with just two coats and I also added a top coat to show you what they look like that way as well.
going all in is a light cotton candy pink.
call your bluff is a light sand beige.
wild card is a bright sapphire blue.
game theory is a raisin plum.
ace of shades is a dark burgundy red.
Pretty collection, yes? I pretty much never wear matte polishes because I really love shine, but these are very pretty as matte shades. However I still think they are way prettier with a shiny top coat. All that shimmer that’s hidden just jumps out when you add some shine. I wish I could see hold ’em tight (the sold out one) with a top coat, I bet it’s beautiful also. I really love all of these colors but my favorites would have to be game theory and ace of shades.
You can find the limited edition essie game theory collection at Ulta and other stores now.
Which of these shades are your favorites? Would you wear them matte or add a top coat?
