Neon OPI Summer 2019 Collection
Happy Monday and welcome to the new Neon OPI Summer 2019 Collection!
This limited edition collection is a collaboration with Converse and you can get neon nails, neon shoes or both! These shades were inspired by music festivals and the DJ pair Dren and Angel (you can learn more about themĀ here).
The formula for this collection was pretty good, but not all were perfect. I did swatch them all over my go-to ridge-filling base coat (KBShimmer Fillin’ Groovy) but even with that, a few of these still needed three thin coats. Also, these are on what I consider the much tamer side of neon. They are bright but not *really* neon in my opinion.

PUMP Up the Volume
PUMP Up the Volume is a bright lemon yellow. This is three thin coats and still a wee bit uneven on my nails.

Orange You a Rock Star?
Orange You a Rock Star? is a vivid coral orange. This is three thin coats.

V-I-Pink Passes
V-I-Pink Passes is a bright flamingo pink. This is two coats.

Positive Vibes Only
Positive Vibes Only (hate that name and the whole PVO trend) is a bright grape. This is two coats.

Dance Party ‘Teal Dawn
Dance Party ‘Teal Dawn is a bright teal green. It’s a better teal shade in real life as opposed to this photo. This is three coats.

Music is My Muse
Music is My Muse is a bright electric blue. This one also looks more intense in person. This is two coats.

Neon OPI Summer 2019 Collection
So there you have it! I feel like it’s a nice collection but there aren’t really any shades here we haven’t seen before.
These are limited edition and can be found on their site and in select stores now.
Are you feeling this collection or not so much?

I love this collection! With the neons, I’m no expert but in my experience, the more ‘neon’ it is, the more difficult the formula. I wonder if they are trying to compromise a bit of brightness for a formula we can work with? Wearing it over a white base will make it pop, too.
These are pretty “meh” to me, especially that yellow. No patience for three coats that still don’t cover completely!
