Why hello there and welcome to the OPI Tokyo Spring 2019 Collection!
The OPI Tokyo Spring 2019 Collection features twelve new shades evoking a VERY spring-like feel, which I love. Nine of these are cremes and three are shimmers.
Of course there are a lot of pinks, as we pretty much expect from OPI. Most of their collections are heavy on the pinks and/or reds, which might not be the hardcore nailphile’s favorite colors, but they are obviously HUGE sellers or they wouldn’t keep making them!
The formula was really nice with these. The lighter cremes worked best over a ridge-filling base coat for me and all were 2-3 coats.
Another Ramen-tic Evening is a light muted pink creme.
How Does Your Zen Garden Grow? is a light lime green creme.
Rice Rice Baby is a dusty medium mauve/pink creme.
Kanpai OPI! is a muted periwinkle creme.
Arigato from Tokyo is a vivid medium pink creme.
I’m On a Sushi Roll is a dusty medium blue/green creme.
Tempura-ture is Rising! is a bright coral/orange creme.
Suzi-san Climbs Fuji-san is a dusty blue creme.
Hurry-juku Get this Color! is a deep pinky/purple creme.
All Your Dreams in Vending Machines is a fuchsia shimmer.
Samurai Breaks a Nail is a royal purple with heavy blue/pink shimmer.
Chopsticks and Stones is a deep navy blue with lighter blue shimmer.
Pretty! I am SOOOO ready for spring, even though it just turned to winter officially today. The first five shades above especially remind me of spring and Tokyo somehow, though I have never been (but would love to one day.)
I like that even though there are many pinks and some other colors here we have seen before (the blues and periwinkle) they all have this slightly muted/grey-ish tone, which makes them a little different. The three shimmers are gorgeous, especially Samurai Breaks a Nail.
