Hey there and happy Thursday! Today I have the Melt Cosmetics Gemini Palette for ya.
The Melt Cosmetics Gemini Palette was a palette I had my eye on when it was first released a few months ago. It sold out fast but I was ok with that since I haven’t been wearing eyeshadow much. But then I saw it came back and since I am on a random “buy all the eyeshadows but never wear them” kick, I picked it up. Plus I’m a Gemini and these are POO shades, which you know I love!
This palette features ten eyeshadows in both matte and metallic finishes. Actually, they are mostly matte (8 mattes, 2 metallic shades.) The colors inside are mostly neutrals and greens, so it’s not your basic neutral/nude palette.
Luna is a light honey/tan matte.
Gemini is a peachy/gold duochrome metallic shimmer.
Lorelei is a mustard matte.
Polkadot is a warm-toned brown matte.
Cupcake is a neutral brown matte.
Bonnie is a jet carbon black matte.
Leo is an army green matte.
Goalz is a metallic golden lime.
Fire OG is an olive green matte.
Mochi is an olive/mustard matte.
This is my first experience with Melt Cosmetics eyeshadows and at first I wasn’t super impressed. I expected these to be ULTRA soft and smooth, but most of them actually felt just slightly gritty upon my first touch. But that disappeared after playing with them a little bit. They swatched really nicely over a primer. They were smooth with no skipping, easily blendable and very pigmented. No chalkiness or weirdness, even with Bonnie (the jet black) which is REALLY black. The one potential for major fallout is Gemini because of the glittery micro-shimmer in it.
Overall I’ve got zero regrets shelling out $58.00 for this one. I absolutely love the shades, the formula is really nice and it’s a very unique palette amongst all my zillions of palettes.
The Melt Cosmetics Gemini Palette is limited edition and available on their site for $58.00.
What do you think about these kinds of eyeshadow shades?
