Urban Decay Lo-Fi Lip Mousse
Why hello there and happy Monday! Today I have the brand new Urban Decay Lo-Fi Lip Mousse shades for ya!
Urban Decay Lo-Fi Lip Mousse is a new product that comes in eight shades. But what the hell is lip mousse? I was kind of confused when I first saw these in the cute little purple compacts. Lip mousse is a weightless, waterproof, buildable lip color with a velvet-like texture and soft finish.
As mentioned above, these come in little cute compacts that include a little mirror as well as an applicator that pops out when you open it. Cool idea!

The product looks almost like a sponge or something when you first look at it.
This is the little applicator you can use, or use your finger!

After using it the first time, it blends out into more of a “normal” lipstick-like texture, but still applies very differently.

Top to bottom: Halo, Wavelength, Frequency, Noise, Echo, Amplify, Fade, Boom
Halo is a soft baby pink.
Wavelength is a light lilac.
Frequency is an orange/red.
Noise is a fuchsia.
Echo is a mauve/taupe.
Amplify is a bright red.
Fade is a medium brown.
Boom is a deep purple.

These are interesting and strange! At first when I was applying them I didn’t think I liked them at all. They felt like they would be really dry and hard to get even. But they actually are really easy. You can just pat them on with a finger or the applicator. And you can keep adding more for more saturation. I like how they are completely weightless, as though there is literally nothing on your lips at all. But they have more color than a typical lip stain.
Obviously they are matte (well, more powdery looking), but I imagine if you don’t love the finish you could add a lip balm or clear gloss on top. I am really kind of digging how easy they are to use and especially in the summertime! They seem like a great substitute for a sticky gloss or heavy lipstick when it’s boiling hot out.
You can find Urban Decay Lo-Fi Lip Mousse on their site now and they are $22.00 each.
What do you think of the idea of a lip mousse?

I wonder how they would look with a coordinating lip liner. I prefer a more defined look, but the colors are really pretty. May have to pop out and get one.
Loving Wavelength on you! I’m curious about these and will be trying that shade.
I’ve been so curious about these! Thanks for getting your review up so quickly. I think they look great for summer. I’ll have to go get one or two since you say they’re pretty nice 🙂
I don’t know why, but I’m so excited about this product! Thanks for quick swatches – the first I’ve seen from real people and marketing so far! Halo and/or Echo are calling to me…… ^_^
wow these look very nice and not sticky or super dry like most matte lippies do!
are they easy to wear? or did they dry your lips out? that’s the part that I hate about matte lip products.. but loved the finish on your lips and the nice shades.. I have to go looking for one at Sephora..
Super easy to wear. I didn’t wear them for more than a couple hours and they don’t feel as dry on me as I would have thought. If worn all day though I *may* use a lip balm under or over them.
tks for the comment, I will look at Sephora for them, I think they’re worth the try
Oooo I’m really excited about these!
Frequency looks fabulous on you! I love the idea but wonder if they would smear all over like lipstick does. I quit wearing it a few years ago because my lips have become so thin on my left side (even though I religiously wear sunscreen and lip spf) and lipstick really accentuates the unevenness. Thanks for swatching!
Nope, they are waterproof and do not smear.
Thanks for the lovely swatches, and so soon after they were released! I definitely want to try a shade or two. I really like Frequency on you!
Not sure how this will look on my darker tones lips. I like boom not sure I am willing to spend $22. Glad I saw your review first.
I saw you post this on your instagram and my first thought was HELL NO! Other than lip balms, I really do not like applying lip products with a finger, but the fact that it comes with an applicator totally changes things. I think I may have to pick one of these up! Thanks for sharing; you’re the only person I’ve seen posting about these
