Hey there people! I hope you are ready to check out my swatches of the CoverGirl Katy Kat Palettes!
There are two CoverGirl Katy Kat Palettes, one called Cool Kat and one called Hot Kat. Each one features 10 eyeshadows in a range of colors and finishes.
There is a definite difference I felt in these two palettes in terms of quality. One felt cheaper and had a lot of fallout and the other felt like it had a better formula and the shades were more pigmented and even, with way less fallout. Then again, the more glitter/shimmer, the more likely the fallout anyway.
Katy Kat Cool Kat features cool tones and many more glittery/shimmery shades. In fact about half of these are super shimmers, which do tend to have a lot of fallout. The pigmentation was ok, many of these I had to swatch a few times to get them to show up better on my arm, so they aren’t as smooth and easy to work with as one would wish. These don’t have individual names, but the blackened green shade (second to last swatch) was amazing, I wish they all had that formula!
Katy Kat Hot Kat features warmer shades and most of these are not glittery or shimmery, which I like much more. These felt very soft and smooth and they were much more even. The shades on the right side of the palette (last 5 swatched here) in particular are really nice and seem to be pretty neutral. The ones with the fallout in this palette are the gold shimmers in the middle, but they aren’t terrible.
Obviously these are cute as hell to look at, especially if you are a crazy cat lady like me, but I do think the Hot Kat Palette is better than the Cool Kat Palette. The quality just seems to be missing in those super messy glitters, unfortunately.
You can find the CoverGirl Katy Kat Palettes on their site and in stores now and they are $12.99-ish.
What do you think about these palettes?
