Hello and happy Monday!
Today I’ve got the ORLY Velvet Dream Fall 2017 Collection for you. This collection is all about the changing of moods and colors for the autumn season. Things tend to get darker and richer, and you will see that reflected in most of these shades.
The formula was a bit strange with the cremes in this collection. They look like they would be really pigmented and thick in the bottles, but they are actually thin and fairly watery. Despite that, they still only took two coats to cover. There is one which took three coats, but it’s worth it!
Silken Quartz is a light pink with a pearly frosty finish. This is not my favorite, it looks very 80’s to me and not in a good way. This was a little brush stroke-y and two coats.
November Fog is a light lilac creme. They describe this as a “grey lilac” but to me it just looks mostly lilac. This is two coats.
Black Cherry is a cranberry red creme. This is two coats.
Blue Suede is a denim blue creme. This is two coats.
Just Bitten is a ruby red creme. This is two coats.
Velvet Kaleidoscope is a purple/gold shimmery chrome. They call it a “purple/teal” but I didn’t really see any teal. It is very shift-y, but it takes three thin coats.
Overall I am not totally blown away by these shades because I feel like they kind of have all been done before. I do like Blue Suede and Velvet Kaleidoscope the most out of the six.
The ORLY Velvet Dream Fall 2017 Collection should be coming out pretty soon, if it’s not already!
Which are your favorites here?
