I have the beautiful and new LORAC Unzipped Desert Sunset Eye Shadow Palette for ya. In fact over the next couple of days I will have all 3 of their new Unzipped palettes, which I couldn’t resist getting recently.
Desert Sunset is described on their site and this description seems very appropriate to me: Embrace the badlands and heat through richly hued shades inspired by radiant, sun-rimmed mountains, striated cirrus clouds, and alabaster stretches of sand that shimmer at sunset. It includes 10 eyeshadow shades and a mini Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. The palette itself is really pretty and has a holographic print on the outside and inside. Of the three new Unzipped palettes this is the warmest-toned one.
Mirage is a light rose gold/pink metallic shimmer.
Sandstorm is a medium rust colored matte.
Cirrus is a pale pink shimmer.
Joshua Tree is a dark brown matte.
Meditation is a bright royal purple shimmer.
Sunrise is a medium red shimmer.
Shadow is a medium red/brown shimmer.
Illusion is an intense gold metallic shimmer.
Sunset is a medium maroon shimmer.
Dunes is a light orange/peach matte.
So pretty! I found these shadows to have really good pigmentation over a primer, and the mattes are even and smooth. The metallic ones are especially intense and buttery soft, and that purple one is gorgeous! Most of these are warm-toned with a few cooler-toned shades thrown in and there is a good mix of mattes/shimmers I think. Of their 3 new palettes this ones strikes me as the most summery-y or fall-esque looking, especially because of those last 5 shades.
You can find the LORAC at Ulta now and it’s $42.00.
