Why hello there. Wanna know something? This post has been sitting in my draft folder since November. I kind of forgot about it! Oops. Well here it is.
Nails inc Nail Polish Fuelled By Charcoal is a newish and somewhat gimmicky line of nail polish which comes in four shades. This polish contains charcoal, which is supposed to help with the gel-like look of it. Charcoal has actually been used for a really long time in many cosmetics, and it’s also supposed to help with environmental toxins. When I picked this up I also decided to try out their Nailkale Superfood Base Coat, which includes keratin for hardening and growing nails, as well as anti-split protection and hydration. And of course, it also has kale extract in it, which also sounds a bit gimmicky to me.
Spencer Street is a charcoal grey with silver shimmer. Now I have to say, the description doesn’t really sound like anything unique but the formula and the way this polish looks really makes me happy! Ok yes, there are some slight brush-stroke issues which are really only noticeable this close up. However, this polish REALLY does have a plumping gel effect to it, unlike all the other polishes I have seen which claim the same thing. It glided onto my nails so smoothly and was thick and creamy, and very pigmented. Once dried it had an amazingly smooth and glossy finish. It’s hard to describe but it really does look different than a regular polish.
As far as the Nailkale making my nails suddenly amazingly healthy? Nah. However I do like it as a base coat, and it’s the one I have been using since I bought it. I figure it certainly won’t hurt my nails and it’s good, so why not use it all up? I may not re-purchase it though.
You can find these both at Sephora and they are $15.00 each.
Have you tried this line yet? What do you think about this shade?
