Hello and a happy Wednesday to you!
Today I have the brand new MAC Shadescents collection, which comes out online today! This collection pairs six brand new scents with some of MAC’s cult-favorite lipstick shades. You will notice each scent bottle matches the lipstick case, which I love! Each scent is different though all (to my untrained nose) have a somewhat woodsy/musky kind of scent. In other words, even the ones that are lighter with more of a floral note in them, are still on the slightly more masculine side of scent. None are super light, clean and feminine, for example.
Velvet Teddy notes are wild honey and creamy musk.
Candy Yum-Yum notes are a fruity/floral scent with cotton candy.
Lady Danger notes are a woody “floriental”.
My Heroine notes contain a woodsy leather, saffron and incense smoke.
Ruby Woo notes are a woody floral with deep leather.
Creme d’Nude notes are an amber musk.
Creme d’Nude is a pale muted peach beige (cremesheen)
Velvet Teddy is a deep-tone beige (matte)
Lady Danger is a bright coral/red (matte)
Ruby Woo is a matte vivid blue/red (retro matte)
Candy Yum-Yum is a bright neon pink (matte)
My Heroine is a bright purple (matte)
I really love each and every one of these lipstick shades, especially Candy Yum-Yum, Ruby Woo and My Heroine. All are super pigmented (except Creme d’Nude, which is a cremesheen – therefore lighter) and each one is worth every penny in my book. The scents are definitely more subjective I think. I have a hard time describing scent so I used their descriptions. None are really my kind of scent as I prefer non-musky and more lighter, cleaner, feminine smells, but you have to smell them for yourself to judge!
The MAC Shadescents collection goes on sale online today on the MAC site and will be in stores December 8th. The scents are $57.00 each and the lipsticks are $17.00 each.
