You may have been hearing a lot about the Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette lately and let me tell you, it’s WORTH the hype! This limited edition palette was something I really wanted, but the price kept me from getting it. Finally after reading/seeing the billionth great review about it, I decided to go for it, and let me tell you, it might be my favorite palette of the year thus far!
First off can we talk about the cool-ass lettering, which Kat does herself? It says “Metal” one direction and then when you flip it it says “Matte” – so cool! This palette is REALLY huge and inside there is a large mirror, 13 matte eyeshadows and 9 Metal Crush eyeshadows. All of the Metal Crush shadows are new. Both the mattes and Metal Crush shadows have an amazing texture. The mattes are super buttery and smooth feeling. The Metal Crush shadows are so creamy they almost feel wet, and they are super pigmented. There really isn’t a dud in the entire bunch.
Linen is a matte white.
Jet is a matte black.
Velour is a matte royal blue.
Stone is a matte cement grey.
Moss is a matte forest green.
Ribbon is a matte deep purple.
Silk is a matte pink/terra cotta.
Fringe is a matte peach.
Feather is a matte dandelion yellow.
Oak is a matte chocolate brown.
Suede is a matte light fawn taupe.
Bone is a matte cream.
Velvet is a matte dark plum.
Nebula is a metallic navy blue.
Watt is a metallic teal.
Ignite is a metallic sea-foam green.
Tinsel is a metallic pewter.
Glitz is a metallic rose gold.
Twinkle is a metallic lilac.
Volt is a metallic violet.
Synergy is a metallic bronze.
Flash is a metallic gold.
So you can probably see what I mean now about this palette, right? It’s really, truly fantastic. All of the mattes were just so soft, pigmented and non-chalky. The Metal Crush colors are crazy-ass soft and pigmented. They really do feel like cremes to the touch. I love how there are a lot of lights and darks, neutrals and brights, warm tones and cool tones, so you can create a really wide variety of looks. It might be a bit pricey at $60.00 but you are getting really good bang for your buck. I am super happy that I bought this because it’s really good, and I think I will be using it a ton in the future!
Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette is limited edition and available only at Sephora and it’s $60.00.
Is this a palette you want for yourself now?
