Happy Friday! The weekend is nigh, got any fun plans?
Today I have the Morgan Taylor The Great Ice-scape Winter 2016 Collection for ya. This collection features six new shades, all inspired by figure skating, which happens to be something close to my heart. Did you know I was an ice skater in my youth? Well I was for a few years, and I LOVED it. I still have my custom-made ice skates and can still smash my feet into them! My grandma actually sewed my ice skating dresses for me – I really wish I still had them. I do still have my badges for all the classes I took though. 🙂
The colors in this collection are all cool-toned, evoking the icy-cool feeling of winter and the sport. They are limited edition as well. Most applied with just two coats and I had no problems to speak of.
Hey, Twirl-friend! is a pale taupe creme. Ok so this was two coats but could have been three since it’s a little watery.
N-ice Girls Rule is a pale pink with pink and silvery shimmer. This was three coats.
Flirt In A Skating Skirt is a medium cornflower-ish blue creme. This was two coats.
Figure 8’s & Heartbreaks is a medium dusty mauve creme. This was two coats.
Ice Queen Anyone? is a copper/rose gold metallic shimmer. This was two coats.
Lace ‘Em Up is a dark midnight blue creme (leaning towards the blue/purple side). This was two coats.
Maybe I am partial to this collection because of the ice skating theme, but I really do like most of the shades here! My favorites are Flirt In A Skating Skirt (such a gorgeous wintery blu-ish/purple-ish color), Ice Queen Anyone? and Lace ‘Em Up. N-ice Girls Rule is pretty but was on the more uneven side and Hey, Twirl-friend! is nice, but I think more dupe-able. Yes I know that’s not really a word, but it kind of is in the makeup/nail polish world, no?
You can find these shades on their site starting in November and they are $9.00 each, $14.95 for a 4-piece mini-pack, or $18.00 for a duo-pack.
See anything here you are excited about?
