The Deborah Lippmann After Midnight Fall 2016 collection has arrived!
After Midnight features six new shades, two of them online Sephora exclusives (more on that below). It comes in the Gel Lab Pro Color formula, which is infused with 10 ingredients to help treat nails and deliver lots of shine and “plumpness” to the nails. Some of the ingredients are evening primrose, keratin, biotin, greet tea extract, rice protein, bamboo, nylon and carnauba wax. The brush that comes with the Gel Lab colors is my favorite and honestly I wish ALL nail companies would use it. It has a rounded edge, which follows the natural curve of the nails, so it makes for a much better application and much less clean-up. It has 320 bristles (which is about 45% more than standard brushes) which helps with a smooth, non-streaky application.
The application and coverage with this whole collection was amazing. I had no problems with the formula at all and everything here covers in one to two coats. Really you can do one coat for all of them if you load the brush properly. I did two thin coats here for all six. Amazing!
Love Hangover is a deep plum/mauve creme. This is a really gorgeous color and has hints of taupe in it as well. It’s the lightest color in this collection.
Wild Thing is a very dark peacock green creme. In real life you can see it’s green and not black, though that’s harder to see in this photo.
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes is a dark smokey blue creme. Now with this one, even though it’s dark, you can definitely tell it’s a deep blue.
After Midnight is a dark indigo blue creme. This is another one that yes, is extremely dark, but you can tell it isn’t black in person. It has hints of deep purple as well.
Out Of The Woods (online Sephora exclusive) is a very dark chocolate brown creme. It looks more brown than black in real life.
All Night Long (online Sephora exclusive) is a black with heavy bronze and pink-ish shimmer. This one, ladies and gents, is STUNNING!
I was super excited to see this collection because I love dark, fall nail colors and I love this formula and brush. I think my personal favorites are Love Hangover, Wild Thing and most definitely the (in my opinion) must-have All Night Long.
Are you seeing anything here that gets you excited for fall?
