CoverGirl truNAKED Shadow Palettes are new and come in three color schemes: Goldens, Nudes and Roses.
Each palette comes with eight eye shadow colors ranging from light to deep and in various finishes. The shadows are soft, blendable and can be used wet for more intensity. But are they as good as some of the other “Naked” palettes we have seen from more prestigious brands?
Creme is a light, slightly shimmery vanilla matte.
Chiffon is a shimmery light champagne/gold.
Cookie is a light warm-toned tan matte.
Sunkissed is a light metallic gold.
Camel is a medium shimmery taupe.
Ginger is a medium, warm-toned bronze shimmer.
Ecru is a deep, cool-toned taupe brown.
Sierra is a dark cool-toned chocolate brown with slight shimmer.
Almond is a light pink matte with slight shimmer.
Champagne is a light shimmery pink.
Baby is a pale pink matte.
Rose Gold is a light, shimmery metallic rose gold.
Copper Rose is a medium mauve matte with slight shimmer.
Dusk is a medium shimmery, warm-toned brown/pink.
Mauvergine is a deep, cool-toned brown with slight pink shimmer.
Mousse is a dark blackened plum with pink shimmer.
I have mixed thoughts about these, so here goes. I do like the range of colors and finishes within each palette. There are enough lights/mediums/darks to go from a light day look to a smokier night look. And all of the colors themselves are very soft and pretty. I feel like the lighter shades aren’t all that pigmented though. The pigmentation is much better once you hit the fifth shade in each palette. So the darker ones are pretty good, the lighter ones, not so much. Not to say they are bad really, I’m just not blown away by them. However, if you don’t wear much eyeshadow or don’t want to spend $40.00+ on an eyeshadow palette, I do think these are decent for the price. Just remember to toss the useless dual-ended sponge applicator and use a good eyeshadow brush instead. I don’t know why companies even waste the money on those anymore, I haven’t used one in a good 20 years!
You can find these now in drugstores and Ulta and they are $9.99-$12.99.
