The MAC Zac Posen collection features just a few pieces from the New York designer and I’ve got a review of what I’ve seen from the collection.
First of all the collection includes a Prep + Prime Finishing Powder, three Lipsticks, the Eye Z You Eye Shadow x 6, Fluidline Pen, Zoom Lash Mascara, Powder Blush Duo and two brushes. In other words, not really a whole lot of items that aren’t a re-promote. The collection comes in a medium matte grey packaging with “MAC Zac Posen” stamped in gold. Nice looking for sure!
Cozy Grey is a light grey (matte)
Performance Art is a light lilac with multipearl (veluxe pearl)
Palatable is a deep frost grey (satin)
Phloof! is a frosty off-white (frost)
Mauve Over is a medium metallic copper/red (veluxe pearl)
After Dusk is a deep warm-toned purple (veluxe pearl)
Dangerously Red is a blue-toned pink/red (matte)
When I first saw the eye shadow palette I had very high hopes because the colors looked amazing and like they would be very pigmented. Sadly, they were not. I am really disappointed! The first three I had to go over and over quite a few times to get this amount of pigmentation to show up. The second three were slightly better, but not much. The shadows just didn’t feel super soft and definitely could have been WAY more pigmented. For me the palette is a huge fail.
Dangerously Red Lipstick on the other hand is a fabulous bright reddish/pink, and even though it has a matte formula, it doesn’t suck every ounce of moisture out of my lips like some mattes do. I definitely recommend this shade if you don’t have one like it and love a bright lip!
The limited edition collection is available now online and coming to MAC counters and stores February 25th – March 24th.
