Basically everything they said is true, except better!
Finland is the second lightest shade and has neutral/yellow undertones.
Alaska is the third lightest shade and has a neutral balance of pink/yellow undertones. This is my shade for most NARS products.
This was truly love at first swipe. Lately when I see any face product that says “matte” or “velvet” or “non-oily” it makes me a little apprehensive because as I age, my skin gets drier. The last thing I need is some super chalky looking matte product on my face. This isn’t like that AT ALL. It literally melted into my skin and felt so hydrating, yet velvety smooth all at once. There was zero chalky/dry/flat effects going on and my skin looked so nice! It does an excellent job of blurring pores, uneven areas and imperfections, while looking soft and satin-like. Even after wearing for many hours there was no shiny/oily areas in my t-zone (where I can still get oily after awhile) and it didn’t seem to disappear either.
Also, I didn’t really find this to be all that sheer, which is a good thing. Normally when I think of sheer, I think of something more like a tinted moisturizer. This definitely has more pigmentation than that. It feels more on the order of a good bb cream to me, which is what I typically wear. The good thing is if you want even more coverage, you can build it up and it doesn’t look overdone at all.
Prior to receiving this I was using the Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm nearly every day. But man…this is coming in a really close second to that for me now!
This will be available on the NARS site on January 15th and Sephora and other retailers February 1st and it’s $44.00.
