MAC Velvetease Lip Pencil Winter 2015 arrives in stores on Dec 17th (online now) and I have some swatches for you!
These new Velvetease Lip Pencils come in twelve shades and they have the color and intensity of a regular lipstick but in a mechanical pencil form. You don’t need to sharpen them, they twist up.
Tease Me is a pale, baby pink.
Just My Type is a bright fuchsia pink.
Lover’s Lane is a bright orange.
Just Add Romance is a classic red.
Anything Goes is a raspberry red.
Velvet Teen is a deep burgundy.
I am all about these fat types of lip pencils, they are actually my favorite types of lip products and have been since I was a teenager. They are just so easy to use! These, for the most part, were decently saturated and gave me a nice, even coverage. The two exceptions are Tease Me, which was blotchy and settled into lip lines and Velvet Teen, which did the same thing. The other 4 here were really great both color-wise and formula-wise. They aren’t as shiny as a regular lipstick (hence the velvet name) but aren’t totally matte either. They feel ok on my lips, not too dry, but not super hydrating either. Someone asked me on Instagram if these are like the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils. I actually prefer those ones a wee bit more just because they are a little more saturated, however I do like these.
You can find these on the MAC site now and they are $20.00 each. They arrive in stores on December 17th.
