MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour launches in stores on January 7th and I’ve got all the details for you today!
These new lipsticks come in 15 shades and are saturated, colorful and have a liquid-suede finish. They have a flat, two-sided sponge applicator which helps them apply nice and smoothly. They start off liquid and shiny, and dry within a minute or two to a non-shiny matte finish.
Divine-Divine is a flamingo pink.
Personal Statement is a bright fuchsia.
To Matte With Love is a warm-toned bright pink.
Tailored To Tease is a medium deep pink.
Recollection is a bright purple.
Fashion Legacy is a vivid red.
Dance With Me is a deep classic red.
I found the application of these to be really quite good. You only need one “sponge-ful” of the product to cover your lips. They are very pigmented but a couple of them (Divine-Divine, Personal Statement and Recollection) do need a few passes over them to get them more even. They dry within a minute or so depending on how many layers you have added. When they dry completely on me I must admit, they feel pretty drying to my lips. I would most definitely need to use a lip balm under them to help with that. They do last a for a really long time, however, I feel the need to take them off before they wear off because they just aren’t all that comfortable to me. I wish they were more hydrating because the consistency is great and I love the colors! I actually prefer the way they look when they are totally wet still.
You will be able to find these in January 2016 on the MAC site and in stores and they are (I think) $20.00-$22.00 for 0.17oz each.
Are you going to be trying these out? Which of these colors do you like?
