The MAC Ellie Goulding collection launches December 14th online and I’ve got some pieces to share with you today.
Confession: I know pretty much nothing about Ellie Goulding except I guess she’s a pop star. This collection features shiny black packaging with rose gold lettering, which I think is very classy and nice looking – although very finger-print-y!
From what I have seen in person of the collection there are a lot of pink and peach shades that all seem a little similar to each other. I don’t really *get* the Full Face Kits, which are cream based shades that you can use in various ways. I know I wouldn’t use them on my eyes as they seem pretty creamy and potentially very crease-y.
The Medium/Dark Pressed Powder actually barely showed up on my skin without a primer, which is why it looks like nothing in this swatch.
Wish I Stayed Cream is a light cream pearl.
Tint Cream is a light peach/brown with shimmer.
Root Cream is a red taupe/brown with shimmer.
Every Time You Go Cream is a peachy pink.
Goodness Gracious is a light peachy pink.
Without Your Love is a seashell pink cremesheen.
Only You is a medium coral pink cremesheen.
Innocent is a nude/beige.
Revved is a light pink.
I was super excited when I initially got this collection because it looked so beautiful, but I have to say I’m disappointed in what I’ve seen. Don’t get me wrong, I love pink and peachy shades, but all the lip colors were so light and un-saturated, I wasn’t bowled over at all. And like I said above, the Full Face Kits kind of have me baffled. I wonder how people actually use these in real life?
This will be online December 14th, in stores December 17th and available until January 15th, 2016.
How do you feel about these colors?
