Pür Cosmetics (formally Pür Minerals) Eye Polish is a brand new product and I have some swatches and information about it for ya!
Technically called Eye Polish Pure Pigment Eye Primer + Top Coat (whew) these do pretty much everything all at once. They combine a primer and color in one product and the “top coat” creates a crease-proof, long-wearing eyeshadow base. All six shades have a metallic sheen and are build-able. They also come with a dual-sided latex-free silicone applicator, which works remarkably well.
So what the heck is this stuff exactly? Well it’s a wet cream product which dries after a minute or so. It comes in a little plastic jar and when you open the lid (which matches the shade inside) you see the product is infused in a soft sponge. You can use them as either an eyeshadow base or just as a stand-alone eyeshadow. They are definitely pigmented enough to use as a stand-alone eyeshadow, which is how I tested a couple of them out.
Cashmere is a light champagne.
Satin is a pale pink.
Silk is a copper.
Velvet is a plum with fuchsia shimmer.
Suede is a bronze with golden shimmer.
Caviar is a smoky olive green with gold shimmer.
I didn’t swatch any of these over a primer since the primer is included. Plus they really are very nicely pigmented with one swipe, and as mentioned, you can build them up very easily. They dry after a minute or so, so you do have a little time to play with them and blend them out. I was very surprised at how well the silicone applicator worked. I kind of expected it to just smear everything all around and create blank areas if I went over the same spot again, but it really smoothed everything out and helped build the product up as well.
The first time I wore one of these it was shade Caviar and I tried it without a primer. I put WAY too much on and I did end up having a mess of fallout after some time had passed. Also, it did crease on me after a couple hours. The next time I tried Cashmere over a primer (Too Faced Shadow Insurance) and used my finger to apply it. This time there was no fallout at all and it stayed a good 8-9 hours on me with no creasing. So those with oilier lids like myself probably still have to use a primer underneath.
I really like these because they are easy to use and kind of fun to use as well! The colors are gorgeous as well. My personal faves are Silk, Suede and Caviar.
You can find these on their website and they are $26.00 for 0.28oz.
