The Orly EPIX line came out for spring 2015 but I just recently tested one of the shades called Cameo out, and I’ve got all the info for you today!
Orly EPIX is a 2 step manicure system (not gel) that is supposed to last about a week and dries in just 8 minutes. The system contains a Flexible Color and then their Flexible Sealcoat. It’s has what they call a “Flexible” chip-resistant formula that allows the formula to remain elastic to flex with your nails instead of becoming brittle and chipping or flaking off. It also has their Smudge-Fixing Technology, which is a shock absorbing system which contains polymers that helps the manicure bounce back from nicks and dents. It has a nice “Gripper Cap” that makes opening the bottles easier (I’ve always love this kind of cap) and these come in around 36 shades currently.
Applying is the same as with any manicure basically, except you don’t use a base coat. You first clean your nails with alcohol or nail polish remover to ensure they are free from any lingering oils/residues. Then apply two coats of the EPIX Flexible Color. Then finish with the EPIX Flexible Sealcoat.

Cameo
I did exactly as the instructions said and applied just two coats with no base coat. I really needed three coats because my ring finger is a bit patchy but I wanted to test it out exactly as they suggested. The color Cameo is a really pretty pale, almost Tiffany blue creme. It matched the walls in my office and my blog logo perfectly! The formula was super easy to work with and the brush fit my nails really nicely. I actually wish all brushes had a rounded style like these do because it mades going around my cuticles so much easier for me, with less clean-up.
Anyway, as mentioned, I really wanted to add a third coat to even out the ring finger, but I resisted and just added the Sealcoat. As promised it did dry super quickly and my nails look nice and shiny. So they claim this can last a week. Not so much for me, which wasn’t surprising at all. As you know if you’ve been following me for awhile, nothing but nothing lasts on me more than 48 hours at the most without some kind of wear/chip/dulling. This lasted about 36 hours on me before I saw one large chip on the side of my ring finger. Then within another 8 hours another chip appeared. So it didn’t even last a full 48 hours without some damage for me, but different people have different nail chemistry, and I am not one of the lucky ones!
You can find this at BeautyBrands.com, Sally Beauty and Ulta, and it’s around $11.99.
Are you going to test this out for yourself to see how long it lasts?

That is such a pretty color! Just wanna say that I feel your pain…I have the exact same problem. No matter what base coat, top coat, nail polish combo I use…chips and wear start about 24 hours (sometimes less than that) after I paint my nails. I wrap the tips and everything and it still happens. I have gotten used to it though and just try to frequently re-do my manicure. I’m not even that rough with my nails! I guess it’s as you say…nail chemistry and all. Too bad, huh?
I am like you with the poor nail chemistry! It’s unfortunate, but I get bored with polish colors easily so I guess it all works out. I love the Orly bottles and the new brush heads as well and this color is very pretty!

Well this is a lemming I will have to slay haha! I’m loving that shade of blue. I don’t get much more then a day or two of wear with any polish, which actually works out as I get bored with the same color for more than a few days. I’m actually curious to see how this one lasts on me.
I love the color, but I wouldn’t invest in something that’s supposed to last a week–my attention span for nail color is too short! 😀

Orly’s caps are super nice, and so is this colour! I feel your pain about the chipping, everything chips on me within two days too, regardless of what I try! And well-meaning people keep trying to give me tips on how to make polish stay on, and I’m like yeah thanks and all that jazz, but tell me something I don’t know. 😛
Cameo is a nice color. The nail trend for polish companies must be to finally find the formula for week long wear! Have you looked at the ingredients in your hand soap/body wash? Certain soap ingredients are harsh (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and chip polish very fast!
what’s up with those polishes not lasting on the nails??? Even professional gel polishes are easily peeled of after 3-4 days… maybe the universe just wants us to use as many different colours as possible…
