The Morgan Taylor Urban Cowgirl Fall 2015 collection features six new shades in earth-toned colors, perfect for fall!
We still technically have a week of summer left, but let’s face it, it’s basically fall. I have said this about 10,000 times on here but I’ll say it again for those who haven’t heard it yet. In the San Francisco Bay Area (where I live) August, September and October are usually the hottest months of the year (it’s been between 90-100+ degrees at my house the past week) and we don’t really get cooler days until November. June and July are basically foggy, so the typical “summer-time” for most folks isn’t actually that hot here. Of course right now is the time of year when I am desperate to wear sweaters and boots (my fave!) but I am forced to wear shorts and flip flops, lest I melt.
But let’s get into the polish now, shall we?
Tan My Hide is a pale off-white creme with very slight hidden shimmer. This one for me was a three-coater because it was a bit uneven. Nice color though, I dig these off-white shades lately.
Holy Cow-Girl! is a medium sage green with light green shimmer. Now this was what I thought would be a must-have shade but it’s not really that great in person. The shimmer is what makes it more interesting but sadly, the shimmer only shows up in certain lighting. So basically it looks pretty much just like a sage green. This was two coats.
Tex’as Me Later is a coppery/pink frost. Hot streaky mess. The color and the finish just screams 80’s to me and not in a good way! This was two super brush-stroke-y coats.
Plum Tuckered Out is a dark plum creme. A beautiful deep, vampy purple creme. This was just two coats.
A Touch of Sass is a deep red creme. A decent deep red, nothing that interesting though. This was two coats. This shade is exclusive to their website (not at Sally Beauty Supply.)
Pumps or Cowboy Boots? is a dark chocolate brown creme. Loving this nearly black chocolate brown. Super shiny and pigmented. This was two coats.
Interestingly for me some shades I didn’t expect wound up being my favorites. They are Tan My Hide, Plum Tuckered Out and Pumps or Cowboy Boots? I do like Holy Cow-Girl! but REALLY wish the shimmer stood out a lot more. A Touch of Sass isn’t anything unique at all and Te’xas Me Later is streaky and and frosty, which isn’t a good combination!
You can find these shades on their website or at Sally Beauty Supply and they are $8.50 each.
