bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is a new Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream which I’ve been testing out for a bit now and really enjoying!
This hybrid gel/cream comes in ten shades and includes broad spectrum SPF 30. It has a dewy sheer-to-medium coverage and is formulated with mineral electrolytes to help energize skin. It’s infused with marine botanicals to help replenish dry skin and contains “heart-leaf globe daisy” which is an antioxidant that helps with protecting the skin against environmental stresses. It’s dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic, paraben-free, silicone-free, fragrance-free and oil-free.
The shade I received for testing is Vanilla 02 (for light skin with neutral undertones), which is the second lightest shade in the line and suits my skin tone perfectly.
It comes in a 1.18oz tube with a squeeze-hole thingie opening. SUCH a great description, right? It’s Monday as I write this, please forgive the brain farts.
I was also sent their Smoothing Face Brush ($28) which is a dual-fiber synthetic brush with a dome-shaped tip. This brush is really great with this gel because it helps blend it into the skin, doesn’t soak all the product up and doesn’t leave streaks all over your face like some brushes can.

Vanilla (02)
As I said earlier, the shade Vanilla matched my skin rather nicely.
This stuff melts into my skin possibly quicker than any other product I have ever tried! I barely have to pat/brush/rub it into my skin and it’s already blended, which I LOVE because a lazy person loves less work! It has a nice, light texture and basically just looks like you have super nice skin rather than having anything on. You can add a little more for more coverage but it won’t ever be like a foundation type of coverage. These types of products are what I go to 9 times out of 10 because I don’t like a super heavy coverage. I just want my skin to look more even, blot the redness out and cover pores and small annoying “flaws.” This does that easily and feels good on. It seemed to last a good 8-10 hours on me without much, if any, shine breaking through in my t-zone, which is the only oily-ish place on my face.
I also like that it has SPF 30 in it, even though I apply it over an SPF/moisturizer anyway. It’s just a little added bonus for me. Remember, even though makeup may contain SPF it’s never enough by itself, you always have to wear a REAL sunscreen underneath to protect your skin.
You can find this at Sephora and it’s $29.00.

This is my HG tinted moisturizer! Been using it for about 6 months or whenever it first came out and it’s like wearing nothing but it makes a huge difference, and it has buildable coverage! The best. I love the lack of terrible ingredients too. This stuff awesome.
Yeah I am digging it!
We have similar views on this product. I love it and the lightest shade Opal is just right for me in the summer. It’s already too dark though! I thought it would sit in my pores but with the RT Expert brush it doesn’t! I found the coverage to be less than my NARS TM but better than a lot of BB/CC/TM level coverage. It’s also very comfortable for dry skin.
Ah rats, that sucks that the lightest shade is already too dark for you!
I LOVE this stuff. It’s so lightweight. I have to wear the lightest shade, but at least there is a shade light enough for me.
After all of the good things you said about this product I feel like I need to give it a try. I like products with a little bit lighter coverage than regular foundation and the 30 SPF is a definite bonus too!
Yeah if you prefer a lighter coverage this might suit you really well.
I was wondering whether to pull the trigger on this one. Now I know I should! 😀

I need to get myself a sample of this! I like that it isn’t TOO expensive, especially since you don’t have to buy the brush with it.
