Have you heard of Knocked Up Nails yet? Well it’s time you did!
This is a fairy new nail polish company that has a 5-free, pregnancy-safe formula. There is no toluene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate or camphor. They are also cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free and made in the USA. There are currently around 20 shades in various finishes. Here is a list of the actual ingredients in their products:
Butyl Acetate– an organic compound commonly used as a solvent in the production of nail polish. Butyl acetate is found in many types of fruit & has the sweet smell of bananas or apples.
Ethyl Acetate – another organic compound commonly found in perfumes, confectionaries and fruits
Nitrocellulose – a fiber used for viscosity
Acetyl Tributyl Citrate – a biodegradable substance that increases fluidity
Adipic Acid/ Neopentyl Glycol/ Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer – soluble in water, alcohol, and acetone
Isopropyl Alcohol – dissolves nitrocellulose (a fiber used for viscosity)
Stearalkonium Bentonite – a naturally occurring powder that is produced from the reaction between hectorite clay, a naturally occurring mineral, and stearalkonium chloride
Acrylates Copolymer – a safe adhesive
Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer – an environmentally-conscious film former
Benzophenone-1 – an organic compound used in nail polish
Polyethylene Terephthalate – a safe product that helps create a durable, yet flexible film
Aluminium Powder – obtained from naturally occurring aluminum-containing minerals
Mica – naturally occurring and made from sand

I Earned a Little Blue Box
I Earned a Little Blue Box is a Tiffany-blue-esque shade with hidden blue shimmer. I’m always a sucker for anything this shade and this is a really lovely polish. The shimmer is fairly hidden but you can see it in certain lighting. It’s a little on the more sheer side for me so I used three thin coats.

Preggers In Pink
Preggers In Pink is a bright pink creme. This is a classic bubblegum pink creme and the formula was really good. Just two coats covers perfectly.

Rock-a-Bye Radiance
Rock-a-Bye Radiance is a metallic shimmery cranberry/fuchsia. This is a very saturated, intense shade and you only need two coats. It has a great formula and is super shimmery.
I’m impressed with these three shades. I think the colors are fun, the fact that they are 5-free is great and the formula was really good. I am interested to see future collections from the brand!
You can find Knocked Up Nails on their website and they are $10.00 each for .50 oz.
See anything here calling your name?

These are all great colors and the price point is amazing!! I love the glitter but how hard was it to remove? Sometimes I have to fight to get glitter polish off and it’s not worth me even using it.
Heather Keet´s last post…I guess I don’t share well…
No it’s more of a shimmer not a glitter.
I can’t stop laughing about the name! And the pregnant L on the logo! I think all the colors are beautiful and all calling my name!
I kind of love the pregnant “L”!
I love these!
I love the concept. The only color that stood out to me was Bahama Mama.

All three are pretty, but nothing I don’t already own.

This is seriously brilliant. I have so many pregnant friends right now that would love to hear about this!

I like the concept, though I’m not totally wowed by the shades. And honestly, when I was pregnant, I still polished my nails with all the different polishes I owned!

I wish I’d known about these when I was pregnant and nursing. I was really laid back about a lot of the stuff you weren’t supposed to do when pregnant (I could barely eat for the first six months so if the one thing I wanted was soft cheese, dammit I ate soft cheese) but was super paranoid about nail polish for some reason didn’t polish my nails for almost a year and a half.
