Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick now comes in 28 shades and 16 new shades are available now!
The new shades just launched a few days ago and I knew it would be hard to narrow down the ones I wanted to buy. I *kind of* managed to control myself and chose just 7 of them. I still sort of wish I had chosen one of the red shades, but I have SO many red lipsticks already it’s hard for me to justify buying any more.
So yeah, liquid lipstick is definitely the new thing. Seems like every single company is coming out with a version. Basically it applies wet and glossy and dries into a matte lipstick finish. These dry pretty quickly but I have swatches of what they look like wet and dry below. They contain vitamin E and sunflower seed oil, which is supposed to help with hydration but honestly, these feel pretty darn dry on my already parched lips. It helps to use a primer or lip balm underneath them but they really aren’t very hydrating at ALL, and anyone who tells you different either has super moisturized lips or is lying (in my opinion).
The applicator is a small, soft angled sponge and works nicely. The one thing I don’t love is that the wand is rather long so controlling it isn’t as easy as a normal length wand. But it’s not really that hard – it’s makeup, not rocket science. 😉

Requiem, Melancholia, Jeffree, Ayesha, Susperia, L.U.V., Echo (wet)
So here you can see the shades as they come out wet and glossy.
Requiem is a light lilac/pink.
Melancholia is a rose pink.
Jeffree is a hot pink/coral.
Ayesha is a medium lavender.
Susperia is a bright lavender.
L.U.V. is a bright violet.
Echo is a deep navy blue.

Requiem, Melancholia, Jeffree, Ayesha, Susperia, L.U.V., Echo (dry)
Here you can see just about 30-45 seconds later they have dried completely matte.

Requiem

Melancholia

Jeffree

Ayesha

Susperia

L.U.V.

Echo
As you can see, some of the more pale shades settled into my lip lines just a bit more than the others, but nothing bad when you aren’t super close-up. They dry rather quickly which is good I suppose. But as mentioned above, when they dried they started immediately feeling tight and dry on my lips. But because I really like them I’ll still wear them but probably with a balm either under or over them. A couple of them (mainly Ayesha and Echo) needed to be gone over a few times to get them even. The shades I really like the best on me are Jeffree, Ayesha, L.U.V. and Susperia. Echo is a million kinds of amazing but I don’t wear shades like that much anymore unless I am going out at night (which never happens anymore).
You can find these only at Sephora and they are $20.00 each.
Are you going to be picking any of these up? Which are your favorites?

I prefer more nude shades, so I have my eye on Bow and Arrow or Double Dare!
????? I want the color Ayesha, I wear the becca lip primer underneath liquid lipsticks and her studded kiss lipsticks it makes the application go on smoother. Also it kind of acts as a barrier so my lip dnt get dry and parched lol!!! My second want out these colors are Requiem, I dnt think I could pull off that color though ?. Do you plan on picking up any of her new studded kiss lipstick shades when they are released?
I probably will pick some of those up when they come out!
I really like Jeffree. It looks like a shade that can work across various skin tones.

I think L.U.V looks beautiful on you.

The blue (or blurple?) is so pretty. I really like these colors, just like MAC matte royal lipstick. And NYX is coming with a matte liquid purplish blue as well! I think I will get that one to save money on a product I wont wear often..
I like the first three colors the most, but feel hesitant to buy if they’re drying. That tight dry feeling on my lips drives me nuts and I wind up constantly licking, or biting the color off. Very attractive right!
jeffree looks gorgeous!

I don’t care much for how Requiem look here. Maybe with a lipliner I’d like it better. The others are really pretty. I have A Go-Go from the original colors. I don’t think it feels overly tight, but I don’t agree with everyone who raves about the formula. It’s good, but not great. I prefer ABH’s..
I like susperia and l.u.v. A lot but don’t think I’d like the super matte formula as I have very dry lips already.
I’m so glad you reviewed these. They are super pretty, but since I can’t stand my lips feeling dry, I will probably give them a miss. Thank you!! 🙂
The best liquid lipstick formula in my opinion. So comfortable and don’t fade or crumble. Sephora liquid lipsticks come in a close second.
Echo looks so dark compared to all the promo pictures she put out
How fantastic is susperia?! I can’t wait for KVD to come to Spain 🙁
Love Susperia!! I wish I could justify $20 lipstick, I really do because these are gorgeous.

I’m so glad you made this post, because I am interested in these lipsticks but unsure about the colours, since they look different on most other bloggers – so it was hard to figure out how they would look on me. Your coloring is similar to mine and you picked beautiful cool colors. This was very very helpful! 🙂
Jeffree is nice!
Susperia is gorgeous!
I love how Susperia looks on you, such a pretty shade. I always wear nudes on my lips, I feel most comfortable with those kind of shades but this one is super pretty though 🙂

Susperia and L.U.V. look best, but these kind of look uncomfortably dry to me. I finally tried one of the lipsticks, in Wolvesmouth, and really like that, but this would be a pass for me.
Pretty shades but I’m honestly not a fan of formulas like this-they’re just so unnaturally dry, to me. I’d much rather wear a matte lipstick, but that’s just me!
