The L’Occitane Peony Collection aka Pivoine Flora (if you wanna get all fancy) is new and features a variety of options all with the delicious flowery scent of the peony. And they also have a new skincare and cosmetics line called Pivoine Sublime.
There is a Mediterranean legend of a beautiful nymph named Paeonia who was so courted by the gods that a jealous goddess transformed her into a flower with a thousand petals: a peony. Since then, this symbol of beauty brightens every spring with its dazzling show of colors and scents.
The Peony collection includes Beauty Milk, Hand Cream, Beauty Cream, Shimmering Oil, Shower Gel, Petal-shaped soap, Eau de Toilette Roll-on, a candle, Perfecting Essence, Perfecting Cream, CC Cream, Perfecting Mist and Tinted Lip Balm. The top notes are blackcurrant, bergamot and pink pepper. The heart notes are peony and freesia. The base notes are white musk, sandalwood and peach. All come together and smell fantastic!
I’ve reviewed their Beauty Milk ($25) and Hand Cream ($12) a few times before and they are always really nice. They sink in without too much rubbing in and always leave my skin feeling super soft and smelling amazing. I love their Hand Creams especially because they are pretty, in small tubes so they’re easily portable, they smell great and they aren’t super greasy feeling.
Tinted Lip Balm ($16) is a brand new item and there are four of them. One is just a clear balm. One is a light rose/nude shade, one is a deeper red/plum shade and then there is Amber, which I don’t have. They have a broad-spectrum SPF of 25 and the scent of peony. They are formulated with shea butter and feel hydrating and light on the lips. While I like the scent of these they also have a taste to them which I don’t like so much. It kind of feels like I am getting perfume in my mouth when I have them on. Aside from that they are a great balm to wear underneath a lipstick because they are lightweight.
You can find these starting May 11th on the L’Occitane website.
