Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was great!
Aromi Matte Liquid Lipstick was getting a lot of buzz on Instagram so I decided to check them out myself and I gotta say, I am kinda hooked!
This is a vegan and cruelty-free brand as well as being free of parabens, phthalates, gluten, triclosan, mineral oil and sodium lauryl sulfate. They have about 20 different shades in their Matte Liquid Lipstick line. These have a very lightweight formula that applies like a creme but dries to a soft matte velvet finish after about a minute. They aren’t super thick so they don’t feel as drying as some mattes can. I can use them over a lightweight lip balm and they feel comfortable for a few hours on me.
I have been really into taupe-y shades lately so the two that really stood out to me were Toasted Almond and Desert Taupe.
The applicator is a soft flocked paddle style.
Toasted Almond is a “nude” with pinky undertones. On me this one definitely looks like more of a pink shade but it’s this amazing muted beige-ish pink. I love it!
Desert Taupe is a “nude” grey-beige. This has more of the beige and not so much pink in it on me. Gorgeous shade and not so oddball that it isn’t flattering or looks weird.
They may look a bit “lip-line’y” in the photos above (and also sorry, I didn’t let Desert Taupe dry as long as I should have) but these are super close-up photos, so in real life you barely notice that.
I really like these and am super happy to have bought these two shades, even though they are on the pricey side. One thing I noticed about them is they are so thin and liquid-y that I accidentally opened one of them sideways and some leaked out all over the place, so be careful about that if you get them. They also have some super bright looking shades which I may try out soon.
You can find these on the Aromi site and they are $17.00 each (for 0.14 oz.)
Have you heard of this brand? How do you feel about the matte liquid lipstick trend right now?
