Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick is new for spring and I decided to pick up a couple shades when I was last at CVS.
These lipsticks come in twenty shades and have a “wax-free gel technology” that is supposed to give true color clarity with just one swipe. They have a clear plastic cap which is nice because you can see the exact shade inside without having to guess. However there are some drawbacks to the packaging. Because the lipstick is cut at an angle and it’s incredibly soft, every time I took the cap off I sliced into the tip of the lipstick! Hence the not so perfect looking product photos below. Argh.
Hydrangea is a bright coral with slight shimmer. You actually don’t see the shimmer really when it’s on the lips, which I prefer. So pigmented!
Orchid is a bright cool-toned pink creme. This is a great shade however it’s not quite as pigmented as Hydrangea is.
These are really pretty shades and I do like them but there are some weird issues with the formula. The’re are so creamy and soft they almost seemed like they had melted in a hot car or something. When I swatched them on my hand they practically liquified and the tips got very squishy. I was able to apply them to my lips straight from the tube but had to use a lip brush to get the edges more crisp since they are so darn soft. The good thing about them being so creamy is they are very comfortable to wear. They feel very hydrating and comfortable on for hours. I wouldn’t say they are really “one-swipe” lipsticks but they are fairly pigmented and buildable.
You can find these at drugstores now and they are around $8.00.
