Nail Butter Cuticle Treatment – just the name makes me drool. Anything with the word “butter” in it makes me drool. Mmmmmm, butter…Obviously this isn’t the kind you would want to slather onto a toasted piece of sourdough bread though. This is the kind you wanna slather all over your cuticles and fingernails.
Nail Butter is an all-natural recipe of essential oils and lanolin which can be used on cuticles, nails, heels, knees, elbows, etc. It contains no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, artificial dyes or fragrances and it’s cruelty-free (not vegan) and made in the USA. The ingredients are Wool Wax (lanolin), beeswax, natural emulsifiers, oil of mustard, aloe vera extract, grape seed oil and gardenia oil. This stuff is actually a family secret that goes back 30 years, which I think adds an extra something special. 😉
Nail Butter comes in a glass jar with a black and white polka dotted cap and the logo is in pink. So cute!
The scent is of gardenia but I don’t feel its overpowering or too strong. I happen to love gardenia, so it’s perfect for me. The formula is like butter! It’s not as thick as say LUSH Lemony Flutter and definitely nowhere near as sticky/greasy. It has more of a creamy formula rather than being super emollient. After I apply it my fingers are a little greasy for 5-10 minutes while it completely absorbs, but then I am good to go. If I compare that to say Lemony Flutter, it’s much better because LF is much greasier and takes longer to absorb. Plus LF leaves greasy fingerprints all over everything for quite awhile after I apply it (and it’s a cat-hair magnet too!) Because it is on the heavier side I do prefer to use it at night before bed.
So have my cuticles and horribly dry and cracked nails been totally transformed? Honestly I’m not sure. The truth is this. If I put anything on my cuticles/nails throughout the day and before bed, they look better. This is why I don’t really believe in the “before” and “after” photos because usually the “before” photo features nails with no lotion or treatment on them, which makes things look extra dry, and the “after” shows them with lotion or treatment on them, which ALWAYS makes your nails look better. I can tell you this. I haven’t had any major hangnails or splits in my nails since I have been trying this out. I don’t know that it’s going to miraculously cure all my nail issues, but it definitely isn’t hurting them, and it sure feels and smells nice!
You can find this on their website and it’s $24.00 for a 1 oz jar.
