I am finally back online, thanks for your patience while I made this host switch. Hopefully my site will not go down as much as it did before and hopefully it’s faster as well!
Today I’ve got the Morgan Taylor Summer Trends collection for ya. This six-piece collection of permanent shades features some typical summery shades, but also some ringers tossed in for good measure. Love it when things aren’t totally predictable.
Nautically Inclined is a cornflower blue crème. Actually it does have some very hidden shimmer in it, but it’s hard to see unless under direct lighting. This is probably my favorite of the bunch because I just love cornflower blue everything. The formula was good but I did need three thin coats.
Color Me Bold is a bright coral crème. A typical fun summer shade. This had a good formula but I needed three coats to cover evenly.
Sugar Fix is a ballet pink with iridescent shimmer. This is meant to be a sheer, but with three coats it pretty much covered completely. Pretty!
Scene Queen is a dove grey shimmer. I love this color, it’s so shimmery! It’s fairly unusual and definitely odd for a summer collection. Great formula, just two coats were needed.
Could Have Foiled Me is a metallic silver. This is super opaque, it was just one coat! Very foil-y but it highlights my nail ridges like crazy.
Something To Blog About is a duochrome purple/gold. While this is a cool color and the duochrome is fairly obvious on the nail, I don’t think it’s very unique. I also had some brush stroke issues with it. I feel like so many brands have a shade like this out now.
For me the best ones were Nautically Inclined and Scene Queen but I also like Color Me Bold a lot, even though it’s a fairly common shade.
You can find these on Loxa Beauty and in select salons now, and they retail for $8.50 each.
What do you think of this collection? Any shades here you must have?
