I am trying to break out of my constant rut of reviewing products so I’m going to start doing more “My Favorites” posts. I just get into this pattern of doing what comes easily to me, which is product reviews, then I realize I never post anything else! I have so many items that are my favorites that aren’t necessarily new, so I want to focus on them more often.
Today I’ve got my top favorite blushes that I find myself grabbing the most out of all the gazillions of blushes I own.
This has probably been my favorite for the longest out of all of these. I’ve had a major crush on this blush since I first discovered it in 2010. And funny enough, it happens to be the least expensive one here! This is just the perfect cool-toned shade for me and it has just the right amount of golden shimmer in it, which isn’t too crazy but also isn’t totally flat. This is the blush I’ve used the most in the last 4 1/2 years and I highly recommend it!
Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Katie ($33.00)
Next to Hard Candy Living Doll this is probably the other one I have been using the longest. Katie was the first and only Ilamasqua blush I care about to be honest. It’s a gorgeous super pale pink matte color. So lovely on fair skin! I use it sparingly right now because Illamasqua is gone from Sephora now *sob* and I am scared I won’t ever be able to get my hands on it again.
Ahhh Candy Glow is so gorgeous inside and out! I mean how could one not fall in love with this heart-shaped blush that has shades of pink and peach with the perfect amount of shimmer? Love it.
This is my other favorite Sweethearts Blush. The golden glow this gives my face always makes me look more awake and younger. Love it.
Aside from this being in the most adorable packaging ever, all these blushes rock. This is my favorite shade because again, it’s a perfect cool-toned pale pink for my skin. It’s not completely matte, it has a slightly satin-ish look to it. Very pigmented.
And when I’m feeling extra pallid and dead-looking, and need an even bigger pick-me-up, I use Lace because it’s a very intense bright pink matte shade. A little goes a long way, it’s so bright!
By now you have picked up on my pale pink theme I presume? I love me a great pink blush and Head Over Heels is extremely pretty. It’s so soft and easy to blend in. It’s got a hint of a nice sheen, but it’s not shimmery per-se. I love all the MUG blushes.
Ok finally I switched up the colors just a bit. Secret Admirer is also pink but it’s a lilac/pink and I have nothing else like it. It’s freaking gorgeous, a must-have if you like these types of shades.
Glisten is a very shimmery peachy pink shade. This one leans more towards peach than pink and it is rather heavy on the golden shimmer, but I love it. I love all their blushes, they are amazing and truly last all day long.
Buxom True Hue Blush in Intoxicate ($24.00)
And finally another one that isn’t a pale pink but more of a peachy/gold shade. The shimmer in this one is less intense than in Tarte Glisten, but it’s still very much there. Great shade to warm up the skin.
I do have swatches of all these on my blog from over the years, so search for them if you are interested in seeing them.
