Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Extreme! is new for spring 2015. You might remember the original formula from back in 2012, which I wrote about here, but this is a new and improved version.
So what exactly did they improve upon? They have a new formula which is supposed to give better length and fullness. It’s fast-drying with no sticky feel. It’s also Ophthalmologist tested and approved for contact lens wearers.
The steps are the same as with the original version though. You apply a priming coat of the Prime & Seal Mascara. Then immediately brush on the Flexistretch Nylon Fibers. Then finish with a second sealing coat of the Prime & Seal Mascara. It’s best to do one eye at a time.
These kinds of mascaras still scare me. I feel all at once itchy and creeped out about this getting into my eye! But it actually didn’t. Whew.
Ok so here I am after following the steps and applying everything. I mean yeah, I definitely have some lengthening and thickening but are these better than false lashes? Not even close. I was happy that despite my fear of putting these fibers so close to my eyeballs, they didn’t wind up getting into my eyes. Having said that though, they did wind up on my face after a couple hours. Not all of them, but I did have some little fiber pieces coming off throughout the day, which is no bueno.
Overall I am not really a fan of this mascara. For one thing even after following the steps, I don’t feel like my lashes look any more voluminous than with any other decent mascara. Also the fact that this involves more steps is a turn-off for the super lazy, low-maintenance person in me. Add to that the fact that I had some flaking off onto my face.
What are your thoughts about this? Would you use a fiber mascara?
