The Pixi Holiday 2014 Collection is available now and I’ve got all the details and swatches for you right this very minute.
This limited edition collection includes the Ultimate Beauty Kit 2nd Edition, which is comprised of 40 eye shadows and 12 face powders, the Shea Butter Lip Balm Trio in Balmy Winter, Fairy Dust Favourites in Light Catchers and a Nail Colour in Nude Dazzle.
What I love about the Ultimate Beauty Kit is that there are 20 cool-toned eyeshadows and 20 warm-toned ones. There is also a nice variety of finishes and for the most part they felt very soft and were nicely pigmented. Add the 12 various highlighter and blush shades and you have tons ‘o’ options!
Here are my final thoughts after swatching everything. Most of the eye shadows were pretty nice. The shimmery and metallic ones definitely have the most even finish and are the softest. Some of the matte ones tended to be a little patchier and harder in texture. But since most of the shadows aren’t matte shadows I think the bang for the buck is really good here. I also really liked the first 8 of the highlighter and blush shades. A few of the last four were a little strange and definitely wouldn’t work for my skin tone, but overall good stuff.
I like the Fairy Dust Favourites shades, especially the last two colors, but since they are loose powder, they are definitely messy.
I am a fan of the Shea Butter Lip Balms as well. I use the clear one almost daily during the day and really like it. Honey Nectar isn’t my kind of shade but Ripe Raspberry has a nice bright pink tone.
Nude Dazzle Nail Colour is a nice silvery/nude foil. It’s super shimmery and covers with just one coat!
Is there anything in the Pixi Holiday 2014 Collection that you have your eye on?
