Oh yeah, Urban Decay Vice3 for holiday 2014 launches on September 13th and I’ve got all the details and swatches for you!
This new palette features twenty brand new shades, an exclusive shadow and crease brush and an exclusive Vice3 bag. The palette itself has an abstract design on the front that matches the bag it comes in, as well as an inlaid bright green jeweled “vice” icon. It’s a really nice sleek and thin palette, making it less bulky than some others from them. Inside of course you will find the twenty new eye shadows, a dual ended brush in metallic green and a huge mirror.

Vice3 exclusive double-ended shadow and crease brush

Truth, Dragon, Vanity, Alien, Last Sin (over primer)
Truth is a pale pink/nude matte.
Dragon is a bright metallic green shimmer.
Vanity is a smoky metallic eggplant with multidimensional micro-glitter.
Alien is a pink/peach with golden shift.
Last Sin is a champagne shimmer with silver micro-glitter.
I felt like Truth was a little on the chalky side. Dragon and Vanity are both really gorgeous, pigmented shades. Alien and Last Sin swatched nicely but they are definitely lighter shades.

Undone, Freeze, Lucky, Alchemy, Angel (over primer)
Undone is a pink/beige matte/satin with floating tonal pearl.
Freeze is a metallic medium blue with multidimensional micro-glitter.
Lucky is a medium metallic bronze.
Alchemy is a dark fuchsia satin.
Angel is a light taupe with silver micro-glitter.
Freeze, Lucky and Alchemy were all very colorful and pigmented. Undone and Angel are both pretty subtle and would make good crease and/or highlight shades.

Downfall, Heroine, Reign, Bondage, Defy (over primer)
Downfall is a warm light brown matte.
Heroine is a dark navy bluer with floating tonal pearl.
Reign is a rich brown satin.
Bondage is a deep, smoky burgundy shimmer.
Defy is a smoky taupe satin.
These swatched pretty nicely and had good, even pigmentation except for Defy. For some reason it wasn’t as even and pigmented as I had hoped it would be. I was impressed with Heroine and Bondage though, so pretty.

DTF, Brokedown, Bobby Dazzle, Sonic, Revolver (over primer)
DTF is a taupe matte with subtle floating pearl.
Brokedown is a metallic golden brown shimmer with gold micro-shimmer.
Bobby Dazzle is a metallic white with pale gold micro-glitter.
Sonic is a metallic red/copper.
Revolver is a soft black satin with floating iridescent pearl.
DTF is probably my favorite shade in this whole palette. It was so soft, pigmented and a really great, unusual shade. But Brokedown and Sonic were pretty awesome as well. Bobby Dazzle and Revolver both felt soft and nicely pigmented too.
I love that this palette is slimmer and feels lightweight. There is a good mix of both lighter and darker shades, as well as various finishes. While there aren’t any true, pure matte shades other than Downfall, I feel like the matte/satin ones aren’t overly shimmery or glittery and so they could work well as an almost matte. For me Dragon, Vanity, Bondage, DTF and Brokedown were real stunners.
This will be available on the Urban Decay website on September 13th. It will also be available at Sephora, Ulta and select Macy’s stores as well as online at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s and Beauty.com.
Now I want to know what you think of Vice3. Will you be picking it up?
