MAC Artificially Wild for fall 2014 is a small collection filled with subtle nude-ish, neutral shades for lips, eyes and face.
Upon first glance I thought “how boring”. But after seeing some of the items in person I kind of changed my mind. There is something a little refreshing to me about understated, neutral makeup now. More than ever I am into less intense shades, especially for my eye shadow, and so the two shades I received were perfect for me.
The collection includes 5 Lipsticks, four Lipglasses, three Lip Pencils, four Eye Shadows, three Powder Blushes and three Cream Colour Bases.
Artificial Earth is a pale mauve nude (satin). This is a nice shade and I like it in particular because I don’t think I have any other pinks or mauve shadows like it. It goes great paired with Stony.
Stony is a soft concrete grey (satin). This immediately became a favorite MAC shade as soon as I swatched it. Grey is probably my favorite shade for eye shadow and eye liner, and this was so soft and pigmented.
Pink Cult is a medium muted, neutral pink (matte). This is a great shade and one I have used for a long time. It was my go-to blush for quite a while because it’s just a perfect pink matte.
Au Nature is a dirty mustard olive. Ok now this is a weird color. I have NO idea how I would use this or why. It clashes with my skin tone so much. It’s definitely not for me!
Siss is a muted golden beige (satin). This looks like such a strange shade in the tube, but I love it on my lips! It’s warm-toned and kind of weird looking, which makes me like it more.
De-Nude is a golden beige with some sparkles. This is another one I was not fond of in the tube, but on the lips it’s more of a nude/peachy/golden shade. It does settle into lip lines a bit though.
You can find this collection on the MAC site now until October 2nd.
