Too Faced What Pretty Girls Are Made Of La Belle Carousel for holiday 2014 is quite a unique gift. I’ve never seen anything like it!
This is an actual carousel of eyeshadows, blushes, bronzers and a mascara. It comes in the cutest packaging! There is an outside box, which opens up from the top and you slide out the actual makeup carousel part, which has a pink glitter top and bottom. If you take off the top, you then see six mini makeup kits in a little slot in the bottom. So cool. And in case you wondered this glitter stays in place and doesn’t flake off at all.
A view from the top once you remove the glittery lid.
The front of all the little individual kits within.
On the back of each little kit is a “To” and “From” area, so you could get this kit and give people specific items if you wanted to. It’s like 6 gifts in one.
The entire thing consists of 3 eye shadow palettes, totaling 12 eye shadows, 2 blush and bronzer palettes, a deluxe-size Better Than Sex Mascara and a How-To Glamour Guide.
Who’s Your Poppy? is a shimmery pink/gold blush.
Chocolate Soleil is a medium chocolate brown bronzer.
Luminous Peach is a light peach with slight sheen.
Sun Bunny Dark is a deep bronzy brown bronzer with golden shimmer.
Nutcracker is a very pale silvery pink shimmer.
Nude Beach is a pale glittery champagne/taupe.
Boxes & Bows is a pale peach/gold iridescent.
Sugar Plum Fairy is a deep purple with silvery glitter.
Tufted Suede is a pale light taupe matte.
Angel Hair is a medium gold shimmer.
Haute Chocolate is a deep bronzed brown shimmer.
Yule Log is a dark chocolate with gold glitter.
Frost is a light silver/white shimmer.
Tin Soldier is an intense silver metallic.
Christmas Tree is a deep emerald green shimmer.
Santa’s Boots is a black matte with silver glitter.
For the most part the eye shadows all swatched very nicely. The only one I felt wasn’t that great was Santa’s Boots, which proved to be a bit blotchy, but not too bad. The most intense shades are Sugar Plum Fairy, Haute Chocolate, Yule Log, Tin Soldier and Christmas Tree. The Blushes and Bronzers were soft, pigmented and pretty.
Is this the kind of thing you would buy for yourself or someone else? If you bought it as a gift, would you separate the palettes for different people, or give the whole thing as one giant gift?
