Have you heard of the Laneige brand at Target yet? If not, you are going to be finding out a lot about them from me because I have four posts coming up with their products!
Laneige is a skin-care brand created in Korea over 20 years ago. They strongly believe in the power of water in their products, which you can read more about here. I found out about them from watching yet another video from Nicole of Young Wild and Polished. I swear everything she recommends is Gold people, GOLD!
I was really intrigued by them when I saw them in person because the packaging is really gorgeous. It looks like really high-end packaging, but without the sticker shock. Most everything comes in beautiful blue glass (yes glass) bottles. So fancy! Granted, prices are slightly higher than a typical drugstore brand, but nothing compared to say Estee Lauder or Perricone.
The first product I decided to try out was the Perfect Renew Emulsion. This is a moisture-balancing lotion that’s infused with ceramide corrective water, which boosts the skin’s moisture barrier, and vitamin E, which helps repair lines and wrinkles and improve skin elasticity. This is part of their Anti-aging Care line and is good for all skin types.
It comes in a beautiful blue gradient glass bottle and has a small pump to get the product out. I’ve been using this product for about 3 weeks and love it! It never makes my skin feel greasy or heavy; it has a very light, moisturizing formula. It’s not shiny and it sinks into my skin very quickly. So far it’s played well with all makeup types I have put on top including primers, foundations and BB Creams. I haven’t had any break outs at all. The scent is very light and nice, and goes away pretty much once it has sunken into the skin. I can’t say I have noticed any improvement in my skin from using it, but when it’s on, I feel moisturized, soft and as though my skin is being nicely hydrated all day.
Perfect Renew Firming Eye Cream is another product in their Anti-aging Care line. This products contains concentrated bio-peptides which helps stimulate cell renewal and collagen production. It also has ceramide corrective water which replenishes thirsty skin. It claims over time it will help with wrinkle repair.
I’ve been using this for just about a week and liking it so far. In this short amount of time I can’t say I have noticed any improvement in my fine lines, but it sure does feel hydrating and nice around my eye area. This too has a light formula, and doesn’t feel too heavy or greasy. It sinks in quickly and has a very mild scent, if any. I like using this over a product with retinols so I kind of get double-action going on!
Stay tuned for a few more Laneige posts coming up.
