Hello. This afternoon I have a post that I really wish I wasn’t posting!
Since Saturday, Parker has been having on and off again seizures. We were up in Mendocino (about 4 hours north of here) at my parents house on vacation when they started. We managed to get him into a vet up there who helped stabilize and sedate him so we could rush back to the Bay Area and get him into and emergency clinic. He was there Saturday night until Sunday afternoon when they let him come home after he was stabilized. But starting yesterday morning he was acting restless and was drooling excessively and wouldn’t stay still. So we called and they said we needed to bring him to their other facility in the Bay which has a neurologist on staff. Yesterday we took him there and he has been there since and will be there at least another 24 hours. He is still having mild seizures so he’s on another medication to try and stabilize them.
If they can’t get him stable, they will do a liver bile test. If nothing odd shows up, then comes the MRI and then possibly a fluid spinal tap. Of course they want to get the seizures under control first and foremost, but this amount of them in such a continuous state makes them think there is a possibility this isn’t just epilepsy and could be an underlying issue, which we would love to get fixed, of course. Border Collies are known for having seizures, and worse ones than other breeds, but this is a really bad situation.
As I am sure everyone with pets is aware this has been an extremely costly situation so far with probably a lot more money to be spent if he does need more hospitalization, as well as an MRI or spinal tap. If you could donate even the smallest amount to help us and Parker out we would be so incredibly grateful. We are doing everything we can to help him and will not give up!

Thank you so much for all the kind thoughts and words you have given us over the past few days, it means a lot.
