There are some great Supergoop sunscreen products out for summer and I’ve got all the details about them you need!
Supergoop has a wide array of sunscreen products, which are all cruelty-free, paraben-free, synthetic fragrance-free and non-comedogenic, non-irritating and allergy-free. You can find them at Sephora, Nordstrom and Supergoop’s website.
Everyday Sunscreen with Cellular Response Technology comes with either an SPF 30 or 50 formula. Both give you a water-resistant formula (for up to 80 minutes) and both feel really nice on the skin.
In fact, this might be in my top 3 favorite sunscreen textures of all time. Mr. VV used it first and he commented on how he loved it, and it’s his favorite one ever because it rubs into his (furry) arms and legs super easily, and without any white cast. And trust me, it’s practically IMPOSSIBLE for me to get him to use sunscreen, so that was a very good sign.
It’s totally non-sticky and feels more like a lightweight moisturizer than a sunscreen. There is no scent to note and again, it blends in completely invisible, doesn’t feel greasy or heavy and is very comfortable to wear. If there is one drawback it’s that it’s rather runny so you have to be careful it doesn’t all rush out at once.
Sun-Defying Sunscreen Oil has an SPF 50 coverage. This is the first spf 50 sunscreen oil in the prestige beauty market. Inside it there is meadowfoam seed oil, argan oil and vitamin E. It helps with moisture loss in the skin and gives you a lightweight coverage with a non-greasy feel. It contains natural notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pomegranate and calendula oils. To me it smells a little like one of those citronella candles, but not as strong (or bad).
I was rather excited about this one because I have been super into oils lately. I used it the other day for the first time and liked it but didn’t love it. Yet anyway.
When I sprayed it on my arms and legs it gave a nice lightweight coverage and I just rubbed it in for a second before it felt like it was sunken into my skin. But then I think I went a little heavy-handed with it on my chest and neck and wound up with very shiny, greased-up looking skin, which I didn’t like.
Another thing to note is it’s probably best to apply this outside because inevitably when spraying it, some won’t land on your skin but the surrounding area. I ended up oiling up the floor and the counter-top before I realized it was spraying elsewhere.
And now for the item I was most excited about the new Forever Young Hand Cream with Sea Buckthorn and SPF 40.
This is the highest level hand sunscreen I think I have seen and for that I say, FINALLY! I’m always on the hunt for a good hand cream with sunscreen but it seems like most companies only make them with SPF 15.
This stuff contains sea buckthorn fruit, which has been shown to help with dark spots, and argan oils, which helps moisturize and protect against photo-damage. It has a light scent of eucalyptus, clove and vanilla. It smells mostly earthy to me, but not in a bad way.
I have the larger container which includes a handy hand pump, but they also have a convenient 1oz purse sized one, which I think is even better because of the convenience. The lotion does feel more sunscreen-y than lotion-y to me, but it’s not greasy or gross feeling. It blends into skin completely invisibly and does provide some moisture to my skin and definitely makes me feel more protected. This is the one area I always neglected to put sunscreen on my whole life until a couple years ago and I can tell you, I can see the damaging effects on my skin now. That’s why I’m always on the hunt for a great hand sunscreen!
How do you feel about using an oil sunscreen? Do you use sunscreen on your hands?
