Sorry for the late start to the day I realized last night as I was falling asleep that I didn’t have a post scheduled for this morning yet! Oops. My life has been chaotic lately, but it’s finally settling down. Isn’t it funny how sometimes we get so bored with the same routine day in and day out and wish for some excitement, but then when we get that excitement in a form we don’t want, all we wish for are those mundane days? I’ll take mundane and boring any day of the week! 😉
Ok so now to the point. I was at the drugstore awhile back checking out all the new skincare items. It had been awhile since I really looked into new skincare and there are so many new things to try out! I decided to try the Freeman Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmeal and Facial Polishing Mask Charcoal & Black Sugar.
I love me a good clay mask and the Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmeal is now of my favorites. This stuff contains clays which are supposed to get deep into the skin and purge dirt and oils from your pores. It contains vitamin E, avocado and oatmeal for moisture and to help skin feel soft. All you do is apply it to your face, let it dry for a few minutes then wash it away with warm water. You can use it up to two times per week.
This has a really nice scent to it, which I can’t pinpoint. What I love about this compared to some other clay masks I have used is it doesn’t dry my skin out at all. Many times I’ve used clay masks and they leave my skin super tight looking and too dry. And sometimes the charcoal ones make my eyes burn for some reason. This one is much more soothing and nice. My face felt super soft and looked very clean when I washed it off.
The Facial Polishing Mask Charcoal & Black Sugar is a new concept for me. This stuff is a combo mask/scrub. It contains activated charcoal, which helps absorb oil and impurities as well as black sugar, which helps exfoliate your skin.
This stuff also smells really nice, but applying it is a little weird. You put it on your face, avoiding the eye area and leave on for 5 to 7 minutes. Then you gently massage your skin for a minute or two and wash off with warm water. It’s strange because it feels completely like a sugar scrub, so I felt like I wanted to start scrubbing my skin and wash it off right away. It’s not so scrubby that it feels harsh and my skin felt super smooth and nice after I washed it off.
The one complaint I had, and maybe this is just my tube, is that after I squeezed some out, the tube wouldn’t shut completely because of the sugar particles stuck in the cap. But that’s not a huge deal.
Bottom line for me is I would definitely re-purchase both of these because they serve a different purpose, smell nice, feel nice and help make my skin look good! They run about $3.99 for 6 oz and you can find them at CVS.
What is your go-to facial mask?
