Have you heard of the NYX Macaron Lippie collection yet? Well you are about to get intimately acquainted with it.
This collection features twelve new lipstick shades, most are either intense and bright, or soft pastels. They have a satin matte finish. While they are very creamy and apply super easy with no dragging, some of them are not without some issues. They feel fairly moisturizing on the lips and are pretty comfortable to wear. They have a slight scent to them which I can’t place. It’s not strong or annoying though.

The whole line-up from 01-12

Lavender, Early Grey, Black Sesame

Orange Blossom, Blue Velvet, Violet

Key Lime, Citron

Coconut, Pistachio, Rose

Rose, Orange Blossom, Key Lime, Blue Velvet, Violet, Pistachio
Rose is a pale pastel pink. It’s one of those pinks that is rather hard to pull off for a lot of people.
Orange Blossom is a light pastel peach. I was surprised with how wearable this one turned out to be.
Key Lime is a bright green. Very lip-line-y on me and very bright!
Blue Velvet is a medium blue. Ok now THIS is the formula I wanted all 12 of these to be. It’s incredibly creamy, smooth and amazing.
Violet is a bright violet and also has a really nice, smooth texture like Blue Velvet.
Pistachio is a pastel green/blue. Despite it being a bit lip-line-y, I love the intense color.

Citron is a bright yellow. Yeah this one is scary both in color and formula. Very blotchy looking.
Earl Grey is a pale blue pastel. Also blotchy looking.
Lavender is a pale pastel lavender. Another blotchy one.
Black Sesame is a light concrete grey shade. Love the idea of this shade but it’s rather lip-line-y.
Coconut is a pale white. This is the only one I absolutely hated upon first application. It’s extremely blotchy and lip-line-y and impossible to get even looking.
Chambord is a really nice jet black with a great, even formula.

Overall: So there are some hits and some misses with these. I think the best ones in terms of formula are Blue Vevlet, Violet and Chambord. But I also like Pistachio, Orange Blossom and Black Sesame. The pastel ones tended to be very blotchy and settle into every line in my lips, so keep that in mind. Maybe a lip primer would help.
