MAC Proenza Schouler is a new, limited edition collection that is out now.
For the first time, the cool cleverness of the Proenza Schouler woman is captured in a collection of confident colour, featuring specially designed, limited-edition packaging.Lipstick bullets, square compacts and Pro Longwear pencils gleam with a unique, luxurious, metallic finish. Four Nail Lacquers glide on in creamy, urban hues. Introducing NEW shades of Blush Ombre in Sunset Beach and Ocean City – face powders in cool pink and warm peach, fused into fuchsia and coral gradients.
This collection is all about the pretty packaging for me. A gorgeous, colorful gradient in square packaging. Lovely.
Woodrose is a light pink beige lustre. It’s extremely light on me, barely shows up.
Mangrove is a bright orange/red matte and it’s AMAZING. Gorgeous shade, and really the only thing I saw in the collection that I was impressed by.
Thimbleweed is a pale nude cream. This took three coats and it’s still a bit patchy.
Nocturnelle is a jet black cream. This is two coats.
Overall: For me there was only one thing that was interesting here (aside from the gorgeous packaging) and that was Mangrove Lipstick. It’s such an intense, beautiful shade. The Blush Ombre shades in Sunset Beach and Ocean City look amazing, but I haven’t seen them in person. The Nail Lacquer shades we have seen before many times, so they aren’t anything special. Oh yeah the brush! The brush is a 129SE Powder/Blush Brush. Nice travel-size, but their smaller brushes never feel as nice as the full-sized ones.
Availability: MAC through May 22nd.
