It’s here! The brand new Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette!
Aren’t you crazy excited that they brought us a palette filled with bright colors finally? I mean don’t get me wrong, I love all the Naked Palettes they have been releasing but it’s nice to see a change every once in awhile.
Electric contains ten shades, including Chaos, previously released in the Vice Palette, and Revolt, from the Anarchy Face Case. All the other shades are new and range from mattes to shimmers. One thing to note. On the back of the palette is does say that Slowburn, Savage, Jilted and Urban are not intended for the immediate eye area. Neon shades do often have a warning like this with them (in the US anyway), so if you have used them on the eye area in the past and had a bad reaction, don’t use these ones! Use at your own risk.
The outside of the palette features a “smoky flower” print in dark and bright colors. It has a magnetic closure. Inside you will find a large mirror and a new Double-Ended Pressed Precision Brush. On one end of it is a small brush, great for lining, blending and smudging. On the other end is a small pigment brush which can be used to apply color all over the lid or in the crease.
Revolt (from Anarchy Face Case) is a bright metallic silver with silver glitter.
Gonzo (new) is a vivid turquoise blue matte with pearl.
Slowburn (new) is a bright orange matte with pearl.
Savage (new) is a bright hot pink matte.
Fringe (new) is a bright teal metallic.
Chaos (from The Vice Palette) is a bright blue matte with pearl.
Jilted (new) is a bright metallic fuchsia with blue shift.
Urban (new) is a bright grape purple metallic.
Freak (new) is a bright pale green with gold shift.
Thrash (new) is a bright lime green matte with gold pearl.
Overall: I think this is an excellent palette for those who love bright colors. The shades are all very smooth and extremely pigmented over a primer. In particular I am in love with Jilted, Urban, Freak and Thrash. Jilted is AMAZING. I for one will not heed the warning on the back and will be trying them all on my eyes. I haven’t ever had any bad reaction to any eyeshadow (fingers crossed) so I am going to assume these will be fine for me as well. Again, try this at your own risk!
