Spotlight on Glitter by OPI is a new collection featuring six sparkly, glittery shades.
These glitters all have different sizes and shapes of glitter in them. Some include holographic glitter, some metallic glitter. All but one are suspended in a clear base, so you can either pile them on by themselves or layer them over another shade. I’ve swatched them all for you over a basic black creme. Each swatch is just one coat. The ease of application depends on the shade, so let’s get started.
I Reached My Gold! features small and medium silver holographc glitter and large hex gold glitter in a clear base. This was the only one where I had slight problems because of the larger glitter chunks. Still it wasn’t too hard to get some on each nail, but I dabbed on rather than brushed on. The glitter isn’t curling, despite how it might look, it’s metallic so it gives off that effect in some lighting.
You Pink Too Much has silver holographic micro-glitter and medium rose-pink colored hex glitter in a clear base.
Desperately Seeking Sequins features silver holographic micro-glitter, silver holographic short bar glitter and medium silver hex glitter in a clear base.
Chasing Rainbows features red, orange, silver, gold, blue and green micro-glitter and medium and large hex glitter in the same shades, and it’s set in a clear base. This is like a party for the nails! Tons of glitter comes out with each swipe.
Rose Of Light features rose-gold holographic micro-glitter, small round holographic glitter and and small holographic square glitter in a clear base. You get a good amount of glitter with this one. I love the square glitter, it’s something you don’t see a lot of from mainstream brands.
Blush Hour features pale pink micro-glitter and small glitter and medium pink/lavender/fuchsia hex glitter in a pink base. Love this one, it might be my favorite.
Overall: If you love glitters then you will probably love these. Most of them are super easy to apply and have a nice consistency. I Reached My Gold! is a little harder to work with but not that bad. Chasing Rainbows is very reminiscent of Milani Gems and Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday.
OPI has a new base coat called Glitter Off which is supposed to help easily peel off glitter nail shades like these. I will be reviewing it soon for ya!
Availability: This month at Ulta, Trade Secret, Pure Beauty, Regis, Dillard’s, etc.
Will you be picking any of these shades up?
