The latest and greatest in textured polish is the Nicole by OPI Roughles collection for spring 2014. Roughles aka “ruffles” in case you were wondering. 🙂
This new collection includes four Easter-egg colored shades with a matte textured finish. You know, I was expecting to like these as much as any other textured polishes. In other words I thought I would probably like them but not fall madly in love with them. Well I fell madly in love with them folks. Something about these shades appeals to me SO much and they really do look like Easter eggs or Jordan Almonds! And looking at them altogether just makes things even better.
Bu you know what makes these even cooler? All the different little speckles of color in them. So pretty. Also I wore them as skittles for three solid days without barely any wear whatsoever, and that was with no base coat or top coat! Usually for me textured polishes start chipping within 24 hours, so that was kind of miraculous. All of these swatches were just two coats.
Sand In My Shoe is a pale yellow with orange speckles. Isn’t this adorable? It totally reminds me of a baby chick for some reason.
Rock The Look is a pale pink with orange and (I think) grey speckles. This one reminds me of a strawberry shake!
On What Grounds? is a turquoise with blue and grey speckles. Another beautiful shade, with great coverage.
I’m Stucco On You is a lavender with blue and red speckles. I think this and Sand In My Shoe are my favorite ones. Love the multi-colored speckles going on here.
Aren’t skittles even more fun? So cute!
Overall: LOVE! I love literally every single thing about these. I have absolutely nothing bad to say. Ok maybe one small thing. Make sure you wear a coat or two of a good base coat with On What Grounds? because it can stain a bit. But other than that I really adore these. The shades are unique, super spring-like and cute, and they lasted on me for a few days!
Availability: This month at Kmart, CVS, Duane Reade, Kroger, Fred Meyer, Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart Canada, Loblow and London Drug.
What do you think about Roughles? Loving any of them?
