Let’s bid adieu to the snow and cold of winter and head straight into spring with the Dermelect ME: Spring/Summer Revival 2014 collection, shall we?
So that’s kind of a small fib on my part. There has been no snow here and not much cold this winter. We are fast and furiously heading into spring. My wisteria, cherry blossom trees, fuchsias and tulips are all blooming in my yard and I am so happy about that! Birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the skies are blue and baby bunnies and kittens are skipping through my yard. Ok that last part was another lie. 😉
This collection from Dermelect features seven new shimmery and metallic shades and a cool sparkly top coat. There is lots of hidden shimmer in these shades and they look much nicer in person than my photos depict. Most were two coats.
The Dermelect formula includes the following benefits, for those who aren’t familiar with the brand:
- Infused with a keratin protein peptide to help strengthen nails and restore flexibility
- Water and detergent resistant
- Protects against UV rays
- Big three-free
- Cruelty free
Naturale is a beige with heavy pink shimmer. This was two coats.
Pristine is a soft blue with mint green shimmer. This was two coats.
Au Courant is a mint green with silver shimmer. This was three thin coats.
Mellow Drama is a bright pink/coral with light pink shimmer. This was two coats.
Radiance is a shimmery orchid. This was three thin coats.
Luminous is a metallic/frosty silvery/grey. Unfortunately this was rather brush-stroke-y for me. This is two coats.
Spotlight is a golden-peach shimmery top coat. This is it alone but you can also layer it over other shades. This is two coats.
Overall: Very nice collection. There are some very soft and pretty shades here that I adore. In particular I really like Naturale, Au Courant and Mellow Drama. The shimmer is a bit hidden but it’s not so subtle that you can’t see it. The formula was pretty good overall. It covered nicely with two coats for most of these. The one I would say is the least desirable in terms of formula would be Luminous. It’s rather frosty and brush-stroke-y looking.
Pricing: $14.00 for regular shades, $16.00 for Spotlight.
