The CND Open Road Collection for spring 2014 features six beautiful new shades in their VINYLUX formula.
You may remember awhile back I reviewed the VINYLUX polish, which when used with their Weekly Top Coat is supposed to provide up to 14 days of wear. Well it didn’t work for me any better than any other top coat, however that does not deter me from loving all of these new shades one iota!
I love that these shades really do make me think of having a road trip adventure. Maybe to Arizona. Maybe checking out the Grand Canyon. Doesn’t it seem like you would see all six of these shades around the Grand Canyon? Ok I confess, I REALLY want to go to the Grand Canyon one day. I’ve never been to Arizona!
Powder My Nose is a soft beige creme. I don’t know what it is about this shade but I REALLY love it. The formula was nice, but it did take three thin coats to cover evenly for me. I think I love that it’s kind of a strange beige-y off-white shade.
Sun Bleached is a soft yellow creme. Loving this yellow because it’s so pale and cool-toned. It reminds me of lemon flavored ice. This was two coats.
Mint Convertible is a light mint green creme. This is that mint shade from the 1950’s that I adore. This was two coats.
Sage Scarf is a medium sage green creme. Another really nice shade, the name is spot on. This was two coats.
Clay Canyon is a medium brown/orange creme. Another perfect name for the shade. Kind of a strange color but I like it for it’s weirdness. This was two coats.
Desert Poppy is a bright coral/orange with shimmer. Yay a shimmer! I was surprised by this one, thought it was a creme initially. Very pretty shade, perfect for spring and this was two coats.
Overall: I love all of these shades, I really do. Despite the fact that I didn’t like the Weekly Top Coat (read more about that in the link earlier) and they only last a couple days on me (as 99% of all polish does) I am looking at these shades for what they are: pretty spring colors with a really great formula.
