The Clinique All About Shadow Quads are new this spring. In fact they have them in quads and 8-pan palettes!
The quads come in eight shade selections and I had a very hard time narrowing it down to just one. You see, I had no intention of buying anything that day. I walked into Sephora with a friend who was going to pick up one thing and I wound up walking out with a bunch of stuff I suddenly needed. I very rarely ever get excited by anything Clinique does but as soon as I saw these I was smitten!
I wound up getting On Safari because you know, it’s green and whatnot. I was rather impressed with the swatches I did in the store, even though I wanted 3 or 4 of the others ones as well!
Anyway these quads come in a shiny silver compact and inside you get 4 eyeshadows, two sponge applicators and a mirror. On the mirror is a handy little guide showing you where to place each numbered color as well.
The other quad shades are Pink Chocolate (pinks), Smoke and Mirrors (greys and blacks), Morning Java (natural brown/beiges), Jenna’s Essentials (nudes), Galaxy (blues), Teddy Bear (browns) and Going Steady (purples).
1 is a light shimmery golden yellow.
2 is a medium cool-toned olive green with slight shimmer.
3 is a light yellow-toned green with slight shimmer.
4 is a deep warm-toned olive green with light green shimmer.
Overall: I really love this quad. All four of the shades combine together so perfectly. They were nicely pigmented over a primer and feel soft. While they are shimmery 1 is really the only one with a “looser” shimmer feel, which might fall-out a little. I could totally see myself going on a tropical beach vacation and taking just this quad with me. Sitting on the warm, soft, white sand, looking at the intense blue ocean and sipping a strawberry daiquiri with my green eyeshadow on.
In other news I want to go to Fiji right this instant. 🙂
Have you tried any of these quads out yet? Want to?
