Recently I’ve been playing around with three new-ish base/top coats from Nicole by OPI.
First we have 3-in-1, which is a base coat, top coat and strengthener all in one. Next we have their Quick Dry Top Coat. Finally there is the Matte Top Coat.
For me, most base coats don’t seem to make much of a difference. Granted, there are some that are horrible that I’ve tried, but speaking generally, they all seem to be about the same. Matte Top Coats are great but again, I haven’t noticed a huge difference between many of the ones I have tried. But Top Coats, now THAT is where the biggest differences lie for me!
As you can see, the Matte Top Coat does a nice job of mattifying the nail shade. It actually looks like a soft satin-matte, which I really like.
The Quick Dry Top Coat is super shiny. It’s not overly thick like Seche Vite, but also not super thin or runny like some can be. It does dry quickly, but perhaps not quite as quickly as say Nubar Diamont or Cult Nails Wicked Fast (which I have been using a lot lately). I like it because it doesn’t shrink my nail polish on the tips like Seche or Poshe sometimes can.
As far as the 3-in-1 I didn’t really notice much of any difference in my nail strength using it as a base coat. I didn’t try it as a top coat simply because I will not ever wear a top coat that isn’t a quick dry one. Who has time for that in this day and age? 😉

Will you be trying any of these out?
